Butterflies & Climbing Frames

A Day Out to Tropical World & Roundhay Park

One of the great things about home education is that every day is different and we can always be flexible. Our plans for the day changed at the last minute and we ended up meeting with friends at Tropical World in Roundhay. I was under strict instructions to take photographs for Wee Man where I could (and who am I to argue with that) so off we went.

Never have we seen the place so quiet. Usually it’s full of families visiting with very young children and at least one school trip making their way around but yesterday we were lucky if we saw a dozen people in total. And never have we seen so many butterflies or meerkats either.

Once we returned to the chill of the outside world we found a new play park to explore. I’m really impressed with the new direction Leeds City Council have gone in with their play equipment. Lots of wood and quirky shapes are a great improvement and the kids loved it. What else can you ask for?
